| It’s time for our annual New Year Greeting Card Exhibition Series. Perhaps a picture of cock is easier to draw than other animals in Jyunishi, the twelve horary signs, we received more designs this year than we did in other years. Some were finished in simple, contrasty black & white, some were fancier and more colorful, using gold and other brightly colored paper.
For the New Year Greeting Card Exhibition Series, each artist makes two identical card designs to be shown in Kanto and Kansai regional exhibitions simultaneously. Exhibitions are held at galleries as well as post offices and other public spaces. The New Year Greeting Card Exhibition Series with its familiar theme provides an ideal opportunity for us to promote senga.
In Kanto, an exhibition in the lobby of Asakusa Post Office kicked off the series for the second straight year. It provides a visual oasis for people visiting one of the most crowded places during the year’s busiest time.
